Inspiration
The Painting.
Intersections was inspired by Edgar Degas’ The Tub (1886) for both the composition and the color palette. The carpet design was also influenced by the grid-like arrangement of geometric shapes of African textiles.

As an initial step, the shapes as well as the color palette was extracted through the original painting as you see below.
